PURPOSE 

This training manual prepares ambassadors to represent Vine Street FC during: 

  • May 27 Press Event 

  • June 12 Kick-Off Activation 

  • Future Summer Soccer Activations 

Brand Ambassadors are expected to: 

  • Welcome guests 

  • Teach basic table soccer gameplay 

  • Support crowd flow 

  • Maintain safety around the game tables 

  • Represent Kansas City with professionalism and hospitality 

  • Help create a fun, inclusive, family-friendly environment 

This role is part hospitality team, part game coach, and part event support crew. 

The goal is simple: 

Create an experience that feels welcoming, energetic, safe, and unforgettable.

EVENT OVERVIEW 

May 27 Press Event 

Purpose: 

  • Introduce Vine Street FC publicly 

  • Support sponsor engagement 

  • Demonstrate table soccer gameplay 

  • Create visual excitement for media and photography 

Ambassador Responsibilities: 

  • Welcome media and guests 

  • Demonstrate gameplay 

  • Help guests learn rules 

  • Keep tables organized 

  • Assist sponsor representatives 

  • Support photo/video moments 

 

June 12 Activation 

Purpose: 

  • Create a large-scale public soccer culture experience 

  • Engage fans before and during match viewing 

  • Activate sponsors and community partners 

  • Build excitement around the Summer of Soccer in Kansas City 

Ambassador Responsibilities: 

  • Teach gameplay continuously 

  • Rotate guests through tables 

  • Maintain lines and crowd flow 

  • Monitor equipment safety 

  • Assist children and families 

  • Create high-energy engagement 

 

 

WHAT IS TABLE SOCCER? 

Table Soccer is seated table soccer played underneath a table. 

Two players sit across from each other and use only their feet to pass, defend, and score. 

The game is: 

  • Fast 

  • Competitive 

  • Easy to learn 

  • Great for all ages 

  • Designed for social interaction 

The experience combines: 

  • Soccer 

  • Gaming 

  • Lounge culture 

  • Fan engagement 

 

BASIC GAMEPLAY RULES 

Sign Waiver 

Score goals by kicking the ball into your opponent’s goal. 

All participants must sign the  

Objective 

Score goals by kicking the ball into your opponent’s goal. 

Players 

  • 2 players per game 

  • One player seated on each side 

Game Length 

Standard games: 

  • 3 minutes OR 

  • First player to 5 goals 

Event staff may shorten games during high traffic periods. 

Allowed Actions 

Players MAY: 

  • Pass 

  • Defend 

  • Shoot 

  • Block 

  • Trap the ball 

Players use feet only. 

Not Allowed 

Players MAY NOT: 

  • Stand on the unit 

  • Rock the table 

  • Use hands during play 

  • Sit on edges or rails 

  • Push the opponent 

  • Climb on equipment 

 

GUEST ENGAGEMENT TRAINING 

Your Job Is To: 

  • Make guests feel welcome 

  • Keep the game moving 

  • Make the experience easy 

  • Keep the area safe 

  • Encourage photos and fun 

What Guests Remember 

Guests will remember: 

  • Your attitude 

  • The energy 

  • Whether they felt included 

  • Whether they had fun 

Not just the game itself. 

 

CROWD MANAGEMENT 

During Busy Periods 

Keep games moving. 

Recommended: 

  • 3-minute games 

  • Winners rotate after 2 wins 

  • Families and children prioritized when needed 

Line Management 

Use clear communication: 

“Y’all are next.” 

“Two more minutes.” 

“Please stay behind the line until the game finishes.” 

 

SAFETY TRAINING 

Safety Is The #1 Priority 

Immediately stop gameplay if: 

  • Someone stands on the table 

  • Equipment shifts or moves 

  • Guests become aggressive 

  • Children are unsupervised 

  • Someone appears impaired or unsafe 

 

SAFETY SCRIPT 

“For safety, everyone must remain seated and keep both feet inside the play area.” 

If behavior continues: 

“We need to pause the game until everyone follows the safety rules.” 

 

EQUIPMENT CARE 

Ambassadors are responsible for protecting the equipment. 

Daily Equipment Checklist 

Before guests arrive: 

  • Check table stability 

  • Check benches 

  • Remove trash 

  • Confirm soccer balls are available 

  • Ensure area is clean 

  • Ensure walkways are clear 

After activation: 

  • Wipe tables down 

  • Collect balls 

  • Remove trash 

  • Report damage immediately 

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATIONS 

Ambassadors Must: 

  • Arrive on time 

  • Wear approved attire 

  • Stay off phones during active shifts 

  • Speak respectfully 

  • Follow event leadership direction 

  • Stay positive under pressure 

 

SOCIAL MEDIA + CONTENT 

Guests will film and photograph the activation. 

Encourage: 

  • Photos 

  • Short videos 

  • Celebrations 

  • Friendly competition 

  • #VineStreetFC 

Avoid: 

  • Arguing with guests 

  • Negative language 

  • Unsafe stunts 

  • Inappropriate music or comments 

 

EVENT APPEARANCE 

Ambassadors should look: 

  • Clean 

  • Athletic 

  • Approachable 

  • Organized 

  • High energy 

Suggested attire: 

  • Vine Street FC shirt or jersey 

  • Athletic shorts or pants 

  • Comfortable sneakers 

  • Credential or wristband 

 

ESCALATION PROCESS 

If there is a problem: 

Step 1 

Pause gameplay. 

Step 2 

Notify the nearest lead immediately. 

Step 3 

Do not argue with guests. 

Step 4 

Allow security or event leadership to handle escalation.
